GTA 6 has reportedly passed $750 million in pre-orders, according to 4WeAreGamers, which relays Sensor Tower estimates published by Insider Gaming. About 7.71 million copies would be reserved sixteen days before the November 19, 2026 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. These are analyst estimates: neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has published a figure.

How many GTA 6 copies are pre-ordered?

Around 7.71 million, per Sensor Tower. The PS5 would account for 74%, close to 5.74 million copies and $559 million. Xbox Series X|S would make up the remaining 26%: roughly 1.97 million pre-orders worth $192 million. The split follows the gap in installed base between the two consoles, as 4WeAreGamers points out.

Faster growth since October

Insider Gaming still reported a total above $600 million in October. Since then the game reportedly added more than $100 million and nearly 1.3 million reservations in two weeks. Rockstar opened pre-orders on June 25, with the standard edition at €79.99. Treat the number with care: a panel estimate is not reported sales, and it says nothing about in-store physical pre-orders.

It fits another signal from a few days ago, the record purchase intent Circana measured in the US. The final stretch is close: pre-loading starts before launch, as we explained in our piece on the 212 GB to plan for. Editions and prices are on the price page.

Why it matters

Nothing changes for players day to day, but the scale matters: $750 million before day one would put GTA 6 on an unprecedented path for a video game. What Take-Two confirms officially after launch remains to be seen. These are not the publisher's numbers, and the gap with real sales will only show in the next financial report.
