Rockstar has moved the GTA 6 pre-load up to November 10 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, nine days before the November 19 launch, and puts the install size at 212 GB. The news comes from TweakTown, TechRadar and GamesRadar+, followed by Polygon, Shacknews, Notebookcheck and a wave of French outlets.
On November 10, for the digital version. Our earlier piece gave November 12, which is now outdated. TechRadar says pre-loads begin nine days early. French outlet Numerama reports Rockstar wanted to ease the strain on slow connections. Several outlets say start times are now published; I am not repeating them until I have read the detail.
212 GB, according to TweakTown and TechRadar. Late October, a leak pointed to 210 GB on PS5 (see our earlier pre-load piece), so it was within 2 GB. A day-one patch could change the figure, but nothing says so yet.
Plan your storage before November 10. On an 825 GB PS5 SSD, the game would take over a quarter of the drive before any update.

No. Pre-loading installs the files; it does not unlock the game. The exact unlock time on November 19 is not established in our sources, and the time-zone staggering discussed earlier this week (midnight local?) is unconfirmed. See the release page.
Nine days of margin instead of seven helps players on average or capped connections and lowers the risk of server congestion on launch day. Still to check: the exact times Rockstar published, and whether physical editions also need the full 212 GB.
