Deleting games can be enough for GTA 6's 212 GB: an M.2 SSD only helps if your PS5 is always full, Sortir à Paris says, citing Sony's guides.

Your PS5 is full and the preload is near. According to Sortir à Paris, citing Rockstar Games' announcement, GTA VI needs up to 212 GB depending on the device. On PS5, players who pre-ordered the digital version can start the download at midnight on November 10, 2026, ahead of the November 19 launch.
Not necessarily. The outlet first suggests checking Settings > Storage to see what fills the console. Deleting a digitally purchased game does not remove it from your library: PlayStation says it can be downloaded again. If a few deletions free enough room, buying hardware is unnecessary.
Yes, with a limit. Per PlayStation support, PS5 games can be moved to extended USB storage but cannot be launched from it, external SSDs included. To play them again, copy the files back to internal storage or an M.2 SSD. PS4 games can run straight from USB storage.
Only an M.2 SSD installed inside the console lets you run PS5 games from extra storage, according to Sony's official guide. M.2 SATA SSDs are not compatible, so check the full spec sheet and heatsink dimensions. It makes sense mostly if you juggle several large games.
