A PlayStation account was reportedly banned after its owner sent a leaked GTA 6 gameplay clip through PS App messaging. Notebookcheck reports it from a Reddit post about an acquaintance. Sony has confirmed nothing.
According to Notebookcheck, the person tried to send a GTA 6 clip, "possibly" from the leak attributed to Cyberleek, to a contact. The PSN profile was reportedly frozen at once, and support allegedly said an appeal would take three months. The outlet itself urges caution: this is a secondhand story with no verified screenshot.
The speed is what stands out. Notebookcheck notes that Sony normally does not review private chats without a report. It points to Nudge, introduced in March 2025 to flag inappropriate messages, as a possible automated explanation, and raises the idea of special precautions before launch given the Rockstar and Sony marketing deal.
Almost nothing about this case. Tech Insider writes that Sony, Rockstar, Take-Two and the user have not confirmed the ban, and that its length and type are unknown. Only the general rule is public: PlayStation's terms let Sony suspend an account, temporarily or permanently, for a breach.

Notebookcheck also mentions DMCA takedown requests from Take-Two and Rockstar against clips posted on social media. See our earlier piece on the 210 GB size attributed to Cyberleek, which the publisher never confirmed.
Nothing is verified yet, but the advice is simple: do not share leaked content, in public or in private. A frozen PSN account 16 days before the November 19 launch (see the release page) would lock a player out of a digital copy. We will update if Sony responds.
