Is the GTA 6 box really sold out?

On Amazon, yes, for both platforms, as of VICE's report. Whether the retailer will get more copies before November 19 is unknown. This is a store listing, not a Rockstar statement, and stock numbers are not public. Handle "sold out" with care: it can mean a few thousand boxes or far more.

The format again: the box holds a code to redeem for the download. Rockstar ships it from November 12 to allow pre-loading, but holding it does not let you play before the 19th. We covered retailers' unease in our piece on a Dutch shop's boycott.

What do pre-orders include?

VICE notes that qualifying purchases before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack, and that digital pre-orders add one month of GTA+, redeemable by March 31, 2027 on the PlayStation Store, once per account. Details are in our article on the free GTA+ month. VICE insists: check each retailer's own bonuses, as they do not all apply to the box. My collector's side: a disc-free box is still a shelf object, like the old Vice City cases. It is shelf pleasure, not a requirement to play. The official price remains €79.99 for Standard.

Why it matters

If you want the box, check several retailers before mid-November. If you only want to play, digital is not affected by this shortage. Still unknown: the volumes actually allocated to each chain.
