GTA 6 on PS4 and Xbox One: no version announced, PS5 and Series X|S only

J-38 GTA 6 выйдет через 38 дн. →

No, no PS4 or Xbox One version of GTA 6 has been announced. Rockstar only talks about PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for November 19, 2026, and that is the only solid information on the subject.

Is GTA 6 coming to PS4 or Xbox One?

Not as of today. Confirmed platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, Series S included, with preloading opening on November 12. Rockstar has published nothing about older consoles: no denial, no plan. Saying the game will never come to PS4 would be an extrapolation, not a fact. Saying it will, an invention.

The calendar points the same way: release is under six weeks away and no late announcement contradicts the two platforms Rockstar names.

What about Switch 2 and PC?

Same cautious answer. Asked by Variety, Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard said it is "a conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar, but nothing to announce on my end at this time", reports GamingBolt. Our full take is in the piece on Nintendo's answer. On computers, GTA 6 on PC covers it: nothing announced either.

My own technical read: an open world of this size demands a powerful machine, and the PS4, released in 2013, is far from what 2020 consoles target. That is my opinion, not a Rockstar statement.

Why it matters

If you still play on PS4 or Xbox One, plan on a new console for November 19, or wait for an announcement that does not exist. Verified dates are on the release page. Still unknown: a version for other machines, and its date.
