GTA 6: Cyberleek claims to sell its development build for $40

Cyberleek says on its sites that a GTA 6 "development build" is on sale for $40, but Mashable stresses that nothing proves it is real.

Cyberleek claims its GTA 6 development build is "out" and sold for $40. Mashable reports it, adding that it can confirm neither the file's authenticity nor that the leaker posted it. Rockstar had not responded in the sources we read.

What does Cyberleek say about the build?

According to Mashable, sites tied to Cyberleek list a file named "GTA 6: Development Build v1.0.1" behind a $40 paywall. An October 13 update quoted by the outlet reads: "Cap was not hit. Build is out anyway. $40 per download." It also points to a mirror. Mashable adds that Dexerto had already reported a release.

The background, as we covered: the leaker promised a release if their token hit a $30 million market cap. The token fell 71%, and Mashable cites IGN for a $1.7 million value, far below its $7.8 million peak on October 11. The threshold was missed, and fans were already urging nobody to pay.

Should you believe the sale?

No independent proof has been offered. Mashable points out that downloading an unknown file from an unverified site would be illegal and risky, and that paying funds copyright infringement. Payment for a file of unverifiable origin is also the classic scam pattern: nothing here settles it, and we will not link to those sites.

On clips already released, Mashable notes that the nudity in the Jason and Lucia videos does not look like part of the game: NPCs do not react, and one clip shows a tank spawned from nothing, signs of developer tools. Its conclusion: no streaking through Vice City on November 19.

Why it matters

For the release, nothing: GTA 6 is still due November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. For players, the real risk is spoilers or a booby-trapped file. Mashable expects more leaks before launch and mentions a poll on Cyberleek's site, closing October 14, about the next Lucia content. The safest move is to wait for the game and follow our release and journal pages.
