A Dutch store is refusing to sell GTA 6. Per Gamekult, Gameshop Twente has decided to boycott the launch because the physical box only contains a download code. "For us it was clear: we don't want to sell our customers a download code as a physical product," Floran Gelderman, who works at the shop, tells the outlet (translated from the French report).
Gameshop Twente lives on discs and cartridges, with a large retro section. It says it now sells only a limited number of physical Xbox titles, and notes Nintendo also sells "codes in boxes", with Sony following in 2028 according to Gamekult. Gelderman defends ownership: if your property depends on Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft or a publisher's servers, you no longer fully own the game. He accepts that skipping GTA 6 means giving up revenue most shops consider essential.
The same piece recalls that Micromania is reinventing itself in France: a goodies partnership with Zing, a retro pivot, and a recent sale by Gamestop to a French-Quebec consortium.
A code, nothing else: Gamekult confirms it, tying the news to a Rockstar announcement just before Sony's. Prices stand at €79.99 for Standard, with the €99.99 Ultimate digital only (price details). The €399.99 Goodtime State box does not include the game. A reseller's boycott changes none of that.

For buyers, little: major chains still stock the game, and the box is the same everywhere. The gesture is symbolic and isolated, and nothing points to other boycotts so far.
