The people who make games are waiting for GTA 6 more than any other 2026 title. Japanese magazine Famitsu surveyed 171 active developers and Grand Theft Auto VI came first, according to a November 4 Latin Times article relayed by Tech Insider. We could not view Famitsu's ranking itself: the details below come from that relay.

What does the Famitsu poll say?

According to Tech Insider, the verified fact is limited to this: of 171 developers asked about their most anticipated 2026 releases, GTA VI finishes first. The outlet itself notes that broader readings, such as a Japanese creative class watching Rockstar closely, are plausible but remain interpretation.

Why does a vote from professionals matter?

A developer knows what a game costs, how long it takes and how hard it is to ship, so the vote carries different weight than a reader poll. It follows public-side measures such as the purchase intent recorded by Circana, and around $750 million in pre-orders estimated by Sensor Tower, a figure Rockstar has not confirmed: see our November 3 article.

The solid facts are unchanged: release November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, standard edition at €79.99, no PC version announced. Sample details (who answered, which other releases are ranked) are not known here.

Why it matters

Nothing changes for the launch, but it is one more signal: the anticipation does not come only from players. Other figures and dates are on the release page.
