The fan who said he hoped to live long enough to play GTA 6 has died. The account @gtasix_ on X announced it Monday evening: his sister posted the news on his TikTok account, voidonly. The post has already passed 355,000 views.

According to @gtasix_, his sister announced his passing on his TikTok account. The account had shared his story in August "in the hope of bringing it to Rockstar Games' attention", and ends with a simple "Rest in peace". We have no second source yet: no outlet we monitor has picked it up and Rockstar has said nothing publicly. We therefore give no detail about his illness or circumstances, which are not established.
His wish was strikingly simple: to hold on until the game arrives. Many players have waited for GTA 6 since 2013, as our piece on thirteen years of waiting described, and his message resonated far beyond the usual fan circles. The @gtasix_ post has over 10,600 likes, 740 reposts and 300 replies within hours.
Nothing changes for the schedule: release stays set for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. But the story is a reminder that for some people this game means far more than a date. Our condolences go to his family and loved ones. We will update this article if Rockstar or the family speaks.
