Yes, a GTA 6 preorder can be cancelled for a full refund, according to SVG, which says Rockstar Games confirmed it. The deadline depends on the platform and edition. The date to remember is the November 12 preload, ahead of the November 19 release.
The refund goes back to the payment method used, provided you cancel before the files are ready to preload. If you wait for the files, SVG says the refund window has usually closed. You can then contact PlayStation Support, with no guarantee.
Per SVG, payment is normally charged only 10 days before launch, on November 9. Cancelling before then costs nothing, since nothing was charged. Xbox would be more lenient than PlayStation: as long as you have not played early, cancelling is usually possible, with a full refund if you were charged. Still, act before November 12, since an installed game makes a refund less likely.
It holds no disc, only a download code, as explained in our boxed edition article. At a retailer, each store sets its own rule. At Rockstar, physical preorders run through Xsolla and can be cancelled before shipping. Rockstar said these editions should arrive around November 12, so act early in November.
