YouGov says 16% of French adults recently noticed GTA advertising in September. The franchise-level figures measure visibility, rather than GTA VI orders or sales.

GTA advertising is becoming more noticeable in France, according to figures published by YouGov. In September 2026, 16% of French adults said they had recently seen an advertisement for Grand Theft Auto, 3.7 times the level recorded a year earlier. The wording matters: this is a measure for the franchise, rather than a figure limited specifically to GTA VI.

YouGov also reports that 14% of French adults had recently talked about GTA, up by a factor of 2.2 over the year. Its awareness measure, however, remained at 44%. In the data presented, more advertising recall and conversation have not translated into growth in that separate indicator.
These measures answer different questions. Seeing an advertisement is not the same as knowing a brand, deciding to buy a game or placing an order. None of those percentages is a preorder total, and the report does not turn them into a forecast for how many people will play GTA VI at launch. Doing so would go beyond the published findings.
A second set of figures examines people considering playing GTA. YouGov says 29% of that group report greater trust in a brand sponsoring an event they follow, compared with 20% of French adults. Meanwhile, 15% say they have visited a sponsor's social profile after noticing it, against 7% of the adult population.

The methodology separates two sources. BrandIndex France compares September 2026 with September 2025 among adults aged 18 and over. Profiles France uses October 2026 data to compare prospective GTA players with French adults overall. The available text does not state sample sizes or margins of error, which limits how precisely the differences can be assessed from this publication alone.
The findings help explain the commercial attention surrounding the launch without requiring a sales prediction. GTA can feature in more conversations while awareness remains stable, and prospective players can report different attitudes towards sponsorship from the broader population. Each observation has a defined audience and should keep that qualification when repeated.
Our GTA 6 release guide covers the game's practical launch information. YouGov's publication adds no new feature or schedule change. Its contribution is a snapshot of the franchise's presence in French public attention, using self-reported indicators that should remain distinct from purchases, player counts and confirmed demand for the new game.
