Miami-Dade County has announced a $3.9 million marketing deal with Rockstar to promote GTA 6, GTA BOOM reports. The site says reporter Joel Franco posted the announcement on X and the county confirmed it in a press release the same day.

What does the deal include?

Per GTA BOOM: themed lighting at Miami International Airport and PortMiami, displays on the walkways linking airport parking to terminals, and the GTA 6 gradient on traffic signal cabinets across the county. A separate ad buy through media partners adds promotion on Metromover, Metrobus and Metrorail. The $975,000 "Welcome to Vice City" sign at the Kaseya Center is folded into the total, with those funds going to Dan Paul Plaza park behind the arena.

What does the mayor say?

Mayor Daniella Levine Cava presents it as a win for residents: "With millions of people around the world waiting for this release, we have an opportunity to make sure Miami-Dade benefits from that attention. These agreements allow us to turn that excitement into additional revenue for our community."

Why it was not a given

GTA BOOM recalls the sheriff and several commissioners opposed it and the partnership was reported in peril. We covered it in our article on the 20 October vote. The final deal trims the original idea: lighting, transit ads and park revenue.

Why it matters

The "Vice City" campaign is now official on the public side, less than three weeks before the 19 November release (details). The amount and locations come from the county release as relayed by GTA BOOM; Rockstar has not detailed its side.
