Rockstar has published no official length for GTA 6, but one figure exists: Rob Nelson, head of development and co-studio head, finished the game in about 80 hours in February, main story and optional goals with narrative consequences included. Insider Gaming recalls this from his New York Times interview.

According to Insider Gaming, Nelson's run lasted around 80 hours. The outlet infers that the story alone could take 60 to 70 hours. That is Insider Gaming's estimate, not Rockstar's: the studio has given neither a campaign length nor a mission count.
Nelson describes a way of playing that is not a sprint to the credits. He hopes players will get up, have a coffee, shower, get dressed, go out for a bit of exercise, then "interact with some people, explore, maybe get into some trouble, rob some places, make some money." That fits what we covered in our piece on Leonida's replayability.
No figure is certain here. Insider Gaming suggests 100 to 300 hours to do everything, based on Rockstar's recent games. For reference, player-submitted times on HowLongToBeat put GTA V at about 90 hours for completion and Red Dead Redemption 2 at 196. Those are player averages, not official measurements, and nothing says GTA 6 will follow the same curve.

An X account, remus_r, claims the game has 201 main missions, two prologues, an epilogue and several flashbacks across nine chapters. Notebookcheck finds the number hard to believe: the account has five posts, cites no source and had already claimed 230 GB for the install size before 210 GB surfaced. We treat it as rumor, not fact. Edge's story feature, summed up in our article today, gives no count either.
For anyone planning November, the only solid benchmark is Nelson's: about 80 hours mixing story and a little optional content. The game launches on November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-load from November 12; real length will be judged once reviews land, with the embargo reported for November 18. Dates and prices stay on the release page.
