Circana says 29% of US console and PC gamers intend to buy GTA 6, the highest purchase intent the firm has recorded for a video game. It measures intention, not orders.

Market research firm Circana has published a figure that the specialist press picked up during the afternoon. According to GamesRadar+, 29% of US gamers on console and PC plan to buy GTA 6. Mat Piscatella, Circana's analyst, presents it as the highest purchase intent the firm has ever recorded for a video game in its tracking. The texts we read do not give the detailed method or the exact survey dates.

Rockstar did not react to the figure in the articles we checked. The game launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and no PC version has been announced. The number covers US console and PC players only, which leaves out a large part of the market.
The tracking, called PlayerPulse, asks players about their intentions. It counts neither pre-orders nor sales. Shattered notes that the raw value is slightly below 29%, a little under three players in ten, and that the headline phrase "nearly one in three" is a rounding. That detail matters when you compare with other surveys, which do not always ask the same question or cover the same population.
The scope is American. The texts we read give no figure for France, Europe or Japan. A strong score in the United States says nothing, on its own, about a buyer in Lyon, Madrid or Osaka.

The practical question is pre-orders. Pre-loading starts on November 12, a week before launch. The standard edition costs 79.99 and the Ultimate edition 99.99 in digital form, at the prices Rockstar has announced. A player who says they want the game has not paid yet, and the choice between the two editions weighs on that decision. Our price guide explains what changes between them.
The Goodtime State collector's set, sold at 399.99 without the game, does not enter this calculation for most buyers. Circana's intentions concern the game itself, not the objects around it.
For readers, the figure confirms what has been visible for weeks: demand is strong three weeks before launch. It does not say which console will sell the most, or whether stock will keep up. Circana's September data on PS5 sales and Xbox Series sales gives a closer picture of the actual market. The release calendar is on the dedicated page.
