Beyond the Mist arrives on Switch 2 on November 19, GTA 6 launch day, while most publishers avoid the date and Phantom Blade Zero releases October 29.

Publishers are dodging GTA 6, but not all of them. According to OpenCritic, republishing a GameRant piece, the horror game Beyond the Mist launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 19, the same day as Rockstar's release. A solo indie developer made it, with a retro look inspired by classic horror.
Since the November 19 date was locked in, developers and publishers have steered releases away from the month, OpenCritic reports. November looks like a wasteland: the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake takes the first week, then GTA 6 lands two weeks later. The outlet notes that GTA 6 only launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, so some PC and Switch developers see a rare chance to market next to a juggernaut.
Another case on PS5 and PC: WorldOfGeek says the action-RPG Phantom Blade Zero releases digitally on October 29, 2026. Chinese studio S-GAME is betting on a short window before a crowded November, with the Ocarina remake on November 5 and GTA VI on the 19th. The outlet cites more than three million wishlists and a Metascore of 88 out of 100 on both PC and PS5.
It is the core argument of small studios: no PC version of GTA 6 has been announced, and Rockstar has said nothing on the subject. PC and Switch 2 players are therefore outside the November 19 launch, at least at first. Beyond the Mist makes that bet on a console Rockstar has never mentioned.

Caution is needed on the real effect. A same-day release says nothing about sales, and we have no figures for Beyond the Mist. The main November releases can be followed on our release page, which recalls the November 19 date and the November 12 preload.
For PS5 and Xbox players, nothing changes: GTA 6 stays alone at the top of November. For PC and Switch 2 players, November brings a few more releases than expected, one of which owns its date. Whether this counter-programming works, or GTA 6 swallows all attention that day, remains to be seen.
