Customers who pre-ordered GTA VI at a Micromania store affected by the October 17 looting should not automatically lose their order: the retailer plans to move those pre-orders to nearby stores. That is what Micromania said on X, in a statement cited by Numerama on October 20. Affected customers are supposed to receive new collection details.

The clarification matters ahead of GTA VI’s November 19 launch and the November 5 release of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake. But it applies to stores hit by the incidents, not the whole chain. The announcement does not report a general problem with orders placed through Micromania’s website.

What will happen to GTA 6 pre-orders?

Micromania says pre-orders from affected shops will be reassigned to nearby stores. The company also says it will contact customers with their new collection location. The announced plan is therefore a change of store, rather than an automatic cancellation. The public statement does not provide a list of affected locations or a detailed timeline for each order.

The consequences may depend on the customer’s town and original store. The replacement shop will need to handle the reservation and collection on the intended date. Micromania has not said whether any orders could be delayed, so its transfer plan should not be treated as a guarantee of a specific pickup time.

What should you do if your collection store was affected?

Keep your order number and watch for emails, texts or notifications in your Micromania account. The company says it will give affected customers the new arrangements. If nothing arrives, contact customer service or another store with your pre-order reference. Do not travel to a different shop at random: the public statement does not name the replacement location.

If you ordered online or chose a store that was not affected, the statement does not ask you to change your order. Customers can also check when their code will arrive and whether they can preload separately: GTA VI boxes contain a download code, not a disc, and Rockstar says preloading begins on November 12. We have already explained the uncertain code delivery dates at Leclerc.

A human issue before a stock issue

Micromania’s statement also condemns the attacks on its employees and promises support. That comes before the discussion of customer orders. The looting left broken windows and teams who need support at a time when several major releases are bringing customers into stores.

Numerama reports that several locations were affected, but the retailer’s public statement does not publish a full list. We therefore do not associate a particular town with a transfer without confirmation.

Why it matters

For affected customers, the useful step is to keep proof of the reservation and wait for Micromania’s instructions. The retailer has announced a transfer to a nearby shop, not a blanket cancellation. GTA VI’s launch date is unchanged. For more, see our coverage of PS5 and Xbox pre-orders and the release details.
