The first GTA 6 reviews could land on November 18, the day before launch. That is the date given by a ResetEra poster, reported by Notebookcheck, and Rockstar has confirmed nothing so far.

When will GTA 6 review scores go live?

The claim comes from a ResetEra user called BlackBate, posted on October 23. According to Notebookcheck, the account is not well known but has built a decent track record since 2021, with correct announcements for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Death Stranding, Pragmata and Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. The claim: the review embargo ends on November 18, with Metacritic scores going up around 6-7 AM Eastern (noon in Paris).

Stranger still, some sites or YouTube channels would have to wait until 12:01 AM Eastern on November 19, launch day. Notebookcheck offers two guesses, with no evidence: Rockstar may want written reviews to set a critical consensus before videos that could show spoilers, or it may simply favor bigger outlets.

When does the press get the game?

Notebookcheck says insider NateTheHate wrote that Rockstar should soon send copies to the media. BlackBate believes the digital PS5 and Xbox codes have not gone out yet: they would arrive the week of October 26 or early November, leaving reviewers two to three weeks in Leonida. He also expects no hands-on preview before launch, since creators were shown gameplay but never played it themselves.

How reliable is this?

Treat it carefully. It is a single forum source, and Notebookcheck itself urges caution. The outlet does note the timing matches GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, whose reviews arrived the day before launch. What is certain stays thin: the game launches on November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the unlock time is unannounced. We covered the midnight local launch in this earlier piece, and the release page keeps the countdown.

Why it matters

If the date holds, players would get a day of reviews before choosing a version, with preorders open until the end. It is mostly a marker for anyone torn between the 79.99 and 99.99 euro editions. Until Rockstar speaks, November 18 is a lead, not a fact.
