Cars filmed on Ocean Drive have fans dreaming of a live-action GTA 6 trailer. GTA BOOM has now corrected its own earlier claim: Rockstar did it before, in 1999.
According to GTA BOOM, it is an eight-to-ten-minute short shot on New York streets in 1999, with the World Trade Center and the Manhattan Bridge behind. Dan Houser wrote it, Alex de Rakoff directed and Jamie King produced. Scott Maslen plays Claude Speed over tracks by Moving Shadow artists.
Parts of it ran in the game's opening cutscene and menus. Rockstar also offered the film as a download in QuickTime and RealVideo, and it later appeared on a Moving Shadow CD, per GTA BOOM.

No, says the same outlet. Trailers for GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, IV, V, Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead 2 used in-game footage or cinematics. GTA 6's did too. The short stays the lone exception.
The Miami idea comes from what fans spotted lately: crews filming cars with Leonida plates, with commercial shooting permits reported on Ocean Drive. We covered that in our piece on the shoots. Nothing confirms a trailer: it is a fan theory GTA BOOM finds consistent with the campaign, not a fact. It also notes modern Rockstar sticks to its engine, and the film's writer has left the company.
No announcement, so no new fact about GTA 6. But the precedent exists, and it puts the real-world Miami Rockstar built around 19 November in context. For series history, it is a 1999 piece worth finding. The journal will follow the shoots if Rockstar says anything.
