Asked by Game Informer, Rockstar's Paul MacPherson cools the idea of a GTA version of Disney World in Leonida, without ruling out every attraction.

Do not expect to blow up Cinderella's castle in GTA 6. Asked by Game Informer about landmark places in central Florida, Disney World and Orlando first among them, Rockstar answered in a way that dampens hopes of a GTA take on the House of Mouse, Journal du Geek reports.

Paul MacPherson, senior vice president in charge of environments, did the answering. According to Journal du Geek, he explains that the team had to keep weighing a huge number of elements to build Leonida: terrain, cities, architecture, landmarks, vegetation, rock formations. Each was then checked with the design and narrative teams, so only what served the game stayed.
The message on central Florida is clear in spirit: that is not where Rockstar put its effort. The same goes for the east coast. Game Informer also asked about NASA's space center and Cape Canaveral, places never seen in trailers or official images.
The official map has six regions: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. None looks like Orlando. Rockstar chose south Florida, its swamps, beaches, islands and urban madness. Our piece on the map notes that artists have been working on it since 2015.

Do not conclude there will be no park at all, though. MacPherson never said GTA 6 has no fairground or tourist spot, only that there is no direct equivalent of Disney World. Journal du Geek points out that a large alligator park, apparently inspired by Gatorland near Orlando, has already been spotted, that an explorable zoo with more than 170 species is announced, and that a seaside Ferris wheel is among the local attractions.
A Minnie Mouse style character was also glimpsed in the gameplay presentation, apparently tied to Fred's Pictures, the Disney-like company already mentioned in GTA V. The Disney parody will be there, just not as a park.
From the 2022 leaks. Some players claimed GTA 6's Disney World would be called Fairyland, and a GTA Forums user mentioned a "Fairyland Forest Puzzle" event. Rockstar never confirmed any of it. The series has done rides before: GTA V let you board a roller coaster and a Ferris wheel on the Del Perro pier, and GTA IV had Funland.
For anyone hoping for a playable Orlando, a door closes less than a month before the November 19 release. For everyone else, it confirms the chosen angle: one state, seen from its south. More on regions and dates on our release page.
