Trailer 3 special: the video, the music, the dates →
The GTA 6 launch trailer runs at native 1440p and does not use PSSR, Sony’s AI-based upscaling technology. That is the reading Génération NT gives of technical analyses of the 90-second footage, which also confirms the November 19 release.

Per Génération NT, the image starts from a 1440p base and is then stretched to 4K without the PSSR that Sony promotes on its consoles. The site offers an explanation: running the algorithm would cost about 4 milliseconds out of a 33 millisecond frame budget, a heavy price for a marginal gain. That time would be better spent on physics and scenery detail, in this logic. It is the outlet’s interpretation, not a Rockstar statement.
Carefully. A trailer is an encoded video and may be rendered differently from the final game. Rockstar has said nothing about GTA 6’s internal resolution on PS5, PS5 Pro or Xbox Series X|S, nor about PSSR. We do not know whether the final version will use it, or at what frame rate. On the same trailer, Génération NT notes that the animation stutter criticised in earlier videos seems gone, which we already covered with Digital Foundry.

The same article goes back to the soundtrack: French duo Justice composes the original score, and the launch list has 34 tracks, as we detailed in our piece on the soundtrack.
For anyone undecided on a console, nothing decisive: the gap between PS5 and PS5 Pro has to be measured on the game itself, after launch. Our console guide keeps the confirmed facts, and the release page the dates. Still unknown: the real resolution, the target frame rate and PSSR’s role.
