Two days before GTA 6, PlayStation Plus subscribers lose GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. Both Rockstar games leave the Extra catalog on Tuesday, November 17, according to GeeksLands, which relies on the "Last chance to play" section Sony shows in the PlayStation Plus tab on consoles.

The site says Sony warned PS5 subscribers with a system notification, relayed by Push Square, before the full list appeared on the Japanese and Asian stores. In France, the list that counts is the one in that "Last chance to play" section, which Sony sometimes extends during the month.

What happens to games in progress?

Saves are not lost, per the PlayStation Plus guide GeeksLands cites. Saves from downloaded games stay on the console, and those from Premium streaming sessions stay on Sony's servers. Anyone who buys the game on the PlayStation Store afterwards picks up where they left off, provided the save was not deleted. A streamed game must first go through online storage.

A timing that fits

The exit lands in the final stretch before November 19. Neither Sony nor Rockstar has explained the date, and no return is announced. Reading a commercial gesture into it would be a stretch: GeeksLands notes GTA V keeps coming and going, and Red Dead Redemption 2 is on its third run in Extra.

That leaves four weeks. GeeksLands puts the main story of Red Dead Redemption 2 at about fifty hours. November's replacements are not known yet.

Why it matters

A PS5 player who wanted to revisit Los Santos before heading to Leonida will need to buy GTA V after November 17. For GTA 6 nothing changes: €79.99 for the standard edition, out November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
