No PC version has been announced, so some want to build one. Tom's Guide reports that a developer going by ZigZagBoi1 has opened a GitHub repository on PS5 firmware 14.10, the version GTA 6 will require, aiming to extract the game files and run it on PC through emulation.

Where does PS5 jailbreaking stand?

Per Tom's Guide, the homebrew scene saw "Relapse" in late September, a jailbreak for PS5 and PS5 Pro on firmwares 7.00 to 13.60. Version 14.00, released September 16, was the first to block it, then Sony shipped 14.10 on October 1 with more security fixes. Sony now requires 14.10 for PlayStation Network access. According to the PlayStation Game Size account cited by the site, GTA 6 will need at least that version. Keep a modified console or play Vice City: owners will have to choose.

What is in the repository?

It gathers 62 test scripts meant to map how the system reacts. One section invites contributors to ask their AI assistant to write new ones, from a template built for Claude. An open ticket asks about those assistants' safeguards, which normally refuse to help build attacks. On X, ZigZagBoi1 says he can break 14.10 before November 19 if the community helps, according to Twisted Voxel, cited by Tom's Guide.

Why it is far from certain

Tom's Guide stresses that the developer has limited application-level access, obtained through a Japanese visual novel, and no working kernel exploit exists. Firmware 14.10 cannot be called jailbroken. Even with a flaw, emulating a PS5 on PC to run GTA 6 would be a colossal job, far beyond a few weeks. Sony has not commented and can ship another update before launch.

The official frame remains: no PC version is announced, and the game launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Leaks are a related topic, covered with the GTA V precedent from 2013.

Why it matters

For most players, nothing. For owners of modified PS5s, the November 12 preload and the required update may close the door. The only established fact is that a public project exists and, so far, has no result. Everything else is one developer's stated ambition.
