Rockstar's physical GTA 6 has no disc, so a disc in the box is a giveaway. Numerama reports that Chinese sellers already list fake physical editions, Standard and Ultimate, discs included. The GTA 6 Info account shared photos on Saturday, October 17 of a copy a user says they bought on Etsy. Numerama notes this purchase cannot be verified.
The official boxed version of GTA 6, due November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, holds only a download code. Numerama calls that a questionable commercial choice given real demand for a physical product, and resellers noticed. Our buying page explains what the official box contains.
According to Numerama, each edition ships a disc printed with a different image and holding no data. The "Ultimate" version adds a card with a code that is probably useless. Yet the Ultimate Edition is digital only at Rockstar, which gives the product away. The listings themselves say the items cannot be played and exist as collectibles.
A listing that says "replica" sells a shelf object, not a scam. The danger is a vague listing, or a reseller passing a box off as a real game. Official prices stay at 79.99 EUR for the standard edition and 99.99 EUR for the digital-only Ultimate, see our price page. Our true or false page tracks what circulates.

Nothing changes for the launch, but a lot for hurried buyers: no disc exists, so any disc is proof of a fake. How many replicas circulate and who makes them is something Numerama does not say.
