GTA 6: White House jokes about Tesla flying cars arriving first

J-33 GTA 6 releases in 33 days →

The White House has used GTA 6 as the punchline of a joke about Elon Musk. Yahoo Autos reports that the official account posted a stylized image of Donald Trump walking past a hovering car, with "Make America Great Again" in the game's lettering and the caption "We really got flying cars before GTA 6".

What does the White House image show?

According to AOL, the picture borrows the game's look: pink-to-white gradient, sunset, palm trees, a skyline behind. A presidential helicopter flies overhead. The Instagram post reportedly passed 123,000 likes and 5,100 comments. AOL adds that this is not the first time the account has used an AI image about GTA 6.

How does Tesla fit in?

The joke answers a Tesla demo on October 15 at a SpaceX site in Texas. Yahoo Autos says the new Roadster, pushed by cold-gas thrusters, left a ramp, flipped in mid-air and landed. Production would only start in 2028, with a 0,000 reservation for the base version and 50,000 for the thruster version.

The gag plays on Rockstar's delays: the game finally arrives on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. More on the release page.

Why it matters

Nothing changes for the game: Rockstar has not responded and nothing points to a collaboration. But it shows GTA 6 is now a political and cultural reference a month before launch. We already covered how the studio avoids Trump and COVID-19 in its satire; here, politics is coming to the game. The two sources differ on some caption details, so we follow Yahoo Autos, the fuller account.
