Replica PS5 boxes of GTA 6, Standard and Ultimate, are circulating ahead of the November 19 release. The disc is empty and the game unplayable.

There is no GTA 6 disc, and yet someone is already selling one. According to Numerama, citing a tweet from the GTA 6 Info account on Saturday, October 17, Chinese manufacturers are offering "physical" PS5 boxes of the game, in Standard and Ultimate versions.
Numerama reports that each box holds a disc with different artwork per edition but no data on it. The Ultimate version adds a card with a code that is probably useless. The listings state plainly that you cannot play with these items: they are collectible replicas. Only the PS5 version seems to be offered.
One user claims to have bought a copy on Etsy, which Numerama says it cannot verify. The listing credits the visuals to Lionheart, apparently a branding agency based in Shanghai and London, per the same outlet.
Because the official retail box has no disc. Rockstar and Take-Two chose to ship only a download code, a decision heavily criticised since June. Sellers are feeding the demand for a real object to put on a shelf. One giveaway: the Ultimate edition only exists digitally at Rockstar, so no official box can carry it.

It fits a wider pattern: the collector set at €399.99 sold without the game already drew complaints, and the Leclerc listing shows even the code-in-a-box format raises questions. For genuine merchandise, see our goodies page.
Nothing changes for your preorder, but take it as a warning: before the November 19 release, distrust any "disc edition" of GTA 6 sold online. None is official. Numerama notes that Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick did not rule out a real disc version later, in comments to IGN in August. Nothing is confirmed. Rockstar has not reacted to the replicas.
