Newzoo estimates GTA 6 could make $3.3 to $5.2 billion in its first week, Sport Stratégies reports, detailing what is at stake for Take-Two and the industry.

The projections for GTA 6 are dizzying. According to Sport Stratégies, Newzoo estimates the game could generate $3.3 to $5.2 billion in sales in its first week. These are analyst forecasts, not Rockstar or Take-Two figures.
Also per Sport Stratégies, about $180 million in digital pre-orders were counted in the US and the five main European markets. A month out, global estimates point to more than 6 million copies reserved on PS5 and Xbox Series, close to $600 million. The outlet adds that Bloomberg reports analysts expecting 40 million console copies and over $3 billion in revenue over the first four months. Even gift cards feel it, as seen in G2A's record sales.
The group expects $8 to $8.2 billion in net bookings for fiscal 2027, around 20% growth, with Rockstar about 37% of it. One label becomes a pillar of a listed company's valuation, a dependence Sport Stratégies calls unusual.
Price is central. In the US the standard edition is $80 against the usual $70 for a triple A, and the Ultimate is $100. CEO Strauss Zelnick justifies it with a 300% rise in manufacturing costs, but says the positioning will not automatically apply to the group's other games. According to the same outlet, publishers are avoiding the window and moving big titles to September, October or 2027. A few defy it, such as studio Fairy Mount, whose Flame, Forest and Flood launches on November 19 to "make a statement for the small video game scene".
If the game sells at this price, other publishers get a precedent. If it disappoints, the signal reverses. Unknowns: an online component expected in 2027 has not been officially detailed, and no PC version is dated.
