The giant Mercuriales banner in Paris reuses the GTA 6 cover without two guns seen on the US artwork, Kotaku reports.

The GTA 6 cover art covering a Mercuriales tower at Porte de Bagnolet has been edited: two guns are gone, Kotaku reports. According to the site, work on the banner wrapped up on Thursday after two weeks of tracking by fans online.

Kotaku compares the Paris banner with the official cover. In the top middle image showing Lucia and Jason, Lucia's gun is missing: her hand stays, the pistol is erased. In the bottom middle image an assault rifle was removed, leaving a raised hand with nothing in front of it.
Murals in the United States, including the New York one Kotaku cites, keep the guns. The outlet does not know who asked for the edit. It floats two ideas without settling on either: tower owners unwilling to show big guns, or a local advertising rule. Neither is confirmed.
We covered the cover going up on the Bagnolet tower, with the town hall's approval. The gun detail changes the picture: it is not a faithful copy of the cover but a version adapted to the site. As far as we know Rockstar has not commented.

The game is rated PEGI 18 and launches on November 19. A street ad does not follow the same rules as a box sold in a shop, which could explain differences from country to country.
Nothing changes in the game. For image collectors this banner becomes a variant of the cover worth comparing with the original. If Rockstar or the owner explains, we will update this article.
