Notebookcheck, citing NateTheHate, says PS5 and Xbox review copies of GTA 6 go out before the end of October, three weeks before the November 19 launch.

GTA 6 review copies are reportedly going out to the press before the end of October, three weeks or more ahead of the November 19 release. That is the claim from Notebookcheck, which relies on Insider Gaming and on extra detail from insider NateTheHate. Rockstar has confirmed nothing.

According to Notebookcheck, NateTheHate says PS5 and Xbox copies will be available before the end of the month. An embargo would therefore lift well before November 19, as our report from yesterday on reviews already suggested. What is new is the lead time: three weeks of play, not a few days.
The outlet also recalls a May claim from a Brazilian journalist that reviewers would be invited to a secret location. Notebookcheck finds that impractical: fans expect at least 50 hours of play, and Leonida is said to be larger than any previous Rockstar world. That is the site's own reading, not a Rockstar statement.
Cyberleek has flooded the web with videos in recent weeks, so the worry is real: a review copy can end up on a forum. Notebookcheck cites other 2026 games, such as Marvel's Wolverine and Silent Hill: Townfall, whose unauthorized footage appeared before embargo. It adds that the lack of a disc should lower the risk. We followed the saga in our piece on the announced end of the leaks (in French).

The debate has started. Notebookcheck notes that Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stressed the weight of critics in May, noting Rockstar games average high Metacritic scores. Insider Gaming contributors, on a podcast, bet on scores between 83 and 87. Those are forecasts, nothing more.
The full calendar, from the November 12 preload to launch, is on the release page.
If confirmed, the first reviews could land well before November 19, possibly even before preloading opens. The embargo date and the list of outlets served are still unknown: those are the two things to watch in the coming days.
