The employment tribunal between the IWGB union and Rockstar is extended: closing arguments will take place on November 17 and 18, days before GTA 6 launches.

The tribunal was due to finish on Friday and now slides into November. According to Rock Paper Shotgun, citing journalist Chris Bratt, the employment tribunal between the Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain (IWGB) and Rockstar Games has been extended, with closing arguments on November 17 and 18, one to two days before GTA 6 launches.

Per Rock Paper Shotgun, the union finishes questioning Rockstar leadership this week, and the judge granted extra time for Rockstar's lawyers to question the fired employees. Both sides therefore keep cross-examining current and former staff before pleading.
The substance has not changed. Rockstar calls it "gross misconduct": staff allegedly shared confidential information on an unsecured Discord server. The fired workers say the company wanted to stop a union forming. The site also reports that a junior employee allegedly fed information from the server to HR director Charlie Kinloch for more than two and a half years. Union lawyers dispute Rockstar's position. Even after closing arguments, the judge still has to rule: no date is given for the judgment.
We have already followed the Glasgow hearing and the Discord informant and the Kurtaj trial on November 9. The case also echoes Bloomberg's reporting on working conditions at Rockstar.

For the game, nothing: the November 19 release is not affected, see the release page. For the studio's image, the timing is awkward: closing arguments land in launch week, and the ruling may come afterwards, when eyes are elsewhere. A labour-law case that will outlast GTA 6's release.
