The November calendar looks like a battlefield whose armies have gone home. According to Nintendo-Master, no other major game is scheduled around GTA 6's 19 November launch window. One title is the exception: the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, announced as a Switch 2 exclusive for 5 November.
The argument comes from Aakash Gupta, a former Epic Games producer quoted by Nintendo-Master. He calls release dates a game of chicken: "when the biggest truck on the road picks a lane, everyone else swerves." Only Nintendo, he says, has a fan base loyal enough to take that risk. He adds that Call of Duty retreated to late October and Phantom Blade Zero moved, which we could not cross-check elsewhere.

The numbers behind this framing are Gupta's too, relayed by Nintendo-Master: GTA V reportedly made $1 billion in three days in 2013, and DFC Intelligence reportedly projects over $3.2 billion for GTA 6's first year. These are analyst estimates, not Rockstar or Take-Two data.
The French outlet compares the situation to 2023's "Barbenheimer", when Barbie and Oppenheimer opened the same day. Here the dates differ, 5 and 19 November, and so do the platforms: GTA 6 is not announced for Nintendo consoles. According to Nintendo-Master, the two audiences barely overlap, which suggests each game may benefit from the attention the other generates.
Saturday Night Live has reportedly already done a sketch on the clash, with Link and GTA 6's lead sharing a desk, per the same source, which also recalls that Ocarina of Time holds a 99 on Metacritic in its original version. That score comes from Gupta's quote and we have not verified it here.
On Rockstar's side nothing changes: release on 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, preload from 12 November, no PC version announced. Everything else rests on a single article and the view of an observer from outside the studio. We found no publisher statement confirming a game was moved because of GTA 6. The full schedule is tracked on our release page.
For players the consequence is concrete: little competition in November, so fewer reasons to delay purchases, and releases bunched into September and October. If the calendar really has been emptied as this analysis says, 19 November will play out almost without witnesses, against a single rival, on consoles GTA 6 does not visit.
