Asked by Game Informer about Orlando, Disney World and Cape Canaveral, Rockstar answers without naming them. The team also describes its Florida research trips.

Two answers in the Game Informer story stay with me, because they say what Rockstar chooses not to show. The first, noted by Kotaku: asked whether Orlando and Disney World would be represented, then the Cape Canaveral space base, Paul MacPherson, vice president of environment art, said neither yes nor no.

Here is the quote Kotaku reports: "We have to constantly evaluate the diversity of landscapes, towns, structures, landmarks, vistas, plant species, rock formations, and everything else before we work with design and narrative to distill a list down. So, while we may not have those exact locations, everything we have is geared to getting that full Florida experience." The "may not" leaves a door ajar, but Kotaku mostly reads it as meaning an Orlando theme-park parody is not on the menu.
The same article points out that central Florida is not absent: marketing material shows a large alligator park that seems inspired by Gatorland, south of Orlando. And a Minnie Mouse-style character seen in the gameplay presentation appears linked to Fred's Pictures, the Disney-like company mentioned in GTA V. In other words, Rockstar picks pieces of the state rather than copying all of it. That is Kotaku's reading, not a confirmation from the studio.
The second answer comes from Rupert Humphries, vice president of narrative, quoted by GamesRadar. The teams went to Florida many times: "We go and try to experience everything, from riding around areas at night with ex-cops, to going to strip clubs and nightclubs, spending time on the beach, in the Everglades, down in the Keys, and beyond."
He adds that the game cannot take you everywhere but wants you to explore and feel most places, with rich and poor people living next door and crime and corruption as the thread that links everyone. GamesRadar notes that Rockstar North, which leads development, is based in Edinburgh.
If you want to check what was confirmed and what was not, the journal keeps a record of every announcement.
Rockstar has not published a detailed map that would confirm or rule out these places. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, preload on November 12, PEGI 18, €79.99 for the standard edition, €99.99 for the Ultimate, and no PC version has been announced.
For fans hoping for a twisted Disney World, this is a likely disappointment, though nothing is formally ruled out. For everyone else, the lesson is that Leonida is a curated assembly of Florida, not a copy, and that its tone comes from places the team actually visited. One question remains that I put to everyone: what part of the state will we never see?
