On September 24, Rockstar Games opened pre-orders on its official store for The Goodtime State, a "Vice City Collection" priced at €399.99 and marked "while supplies last". The detail that got people talking at once: according to IGN, the box is packed with merchandise but does not include the game.

So the set sits next to the editions, not in place of them. GTA VI launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, less than two months after this announcement, and to play it you still need the standard edition at €79.99 or the Ultimate at €99.99. The collector is a shelf piece, not a way into Leonida.
At €399.99, the box costs five times the standard edition without unlocking a single mission. Selling a collector's set without the software happens elsewhere in the industry, but it is rare at this price, and that is why the listing drew so much comment. Fans of merchandise will find more ideas on our goodies page.

When it was announced, the sources we checked did not detail the full contents of the box or the shipping schedule. We are waiting for the complete inventory before judging the value. Prices for the game editions are on the price page.
The box has drawn a lot of comment. Forbes ran a roundup on October 1 of what this roughly $400 set of Vice City goods contains, and Upcomer describes a box with a gator and sunglasses, no game, noting that fans are debating the price. The schedule has not moved: release on November 19, 2026, preload on November 12, PEGI 18, and still no PC version announced. GTA VI: The Album arrives the same day as the game.
The collector sets the ceiling of the GTA VI ecosystem: €79.99 to play, €99.99 for the Ultimate, €399.99 to own the object. It is not a purchase for everyone, and Rockstar owns that by talking about limited stock. For readers the question is simple: the game and the box are two separate expenses, to be planned separately.
