They were free in Tokyo; now they cost more than a game. According to IGN, citing a Dexerto find, the commemorative T-shirts given to attendees of GTA 6's immersive screening at Tokyo Game Show 2026 are already being resold online for roughly $140 to $200 on eBay.

A screening mobbed on day one

The session replayed the Extended Look that aired on Netflix the month before, with surround sound and 4D haptic effects synced to the action. Per IGN, it was so popular that the GTA 6 booth closed after ten minutes, at capacity. Visitors left with a T-shirt handed out by PlayStation. The other items given away at Rockstar's booth, stickers and carabiners, are listed at $30 to $40, again according to IGN.

Nothing new under the scalpers' sun

The outlet compares it to Popeyes' One Piece bento boxes and Pokémon cards, two markets where reselling has already turned chaotic. Here the phenomenon stays small, a handful of listings, but it shows the state of the wait. Meanwhile IGN France reports that Rockstar spent close to a million dollars to airlift a "Welcome to Vice City" sign onto the roof of Miami's Kaseya Center. And IGN says actor Kit Harington, who calls himself a casual gamer, still wants to try GTA 6 after seeing the advertising.

What we know since

For official goodies, Rockstar has since opened its merchandise store, and the collector The Goodtime State is announced at €399.99, without the game. The game launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (preload November 12, PEGI 18, €79.99 standard, €99.99 Ultimate), with no PC version announced. See our goodies and price pages.

Why it matters

A $200 T-shirt says nothing about the game; it is a thermometer. For readers the rule is simple: wait for the official store rather than paying a scalper, especially since resale listings come with no guarantee of authenticity.
