When you drive a bus all day, you notice quickly when the city changes soundtrack. Today it was Rockstar that changed it. The studio announced "Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album" on its Newswire, published by Rockstar Games and Atlantic Records on November 19, the day the game launches. The news had leaked a few minutes earlier: according to IGN, it was billbil-kun of Dealabs who broke it first.
The editions are already up for pre-order. Per IGN, the double vinyl sells for $50, the double CD for $20, and a limited edition vinyl set, with two transparent magenta discs filled with blue liquid and exclusive artwork, costs $125. The prices quoted are US press figures, and we are waiting on the European breakdown.

The clues had been there for days. Spotify had multiplied teasers online and on billboards in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, IGN recalls, and artists such as Travis Scott and Keith Richards had hinted on their social accounts that they were involved in something tied to GTA 6. Both names are now confirmed among the first batch of artists on the album, with more tracks still to be announced.
The album is open for pre-save on the major streaming services, with the first six tracks available to hear. The amusing detail, which IGN stresses, is that the game itself will not get a disc release. Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick defended that choice last month, saying discs "don't really make sense for the consumer". Fans who wanted something for the shelf will get a vinyl, but not the game's box.

The album has 34 tracks. Six singles are out, including RHYNO by Travis Scott and Bright Lights, Big City by Keith Richards, and Rockstar went on to present six radio stations for the game. The game itself launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with preloading on November 12, PEGI 18, €79.99 standard and €99.99 Ultimate. No PC version has been announced.
Rockstar treats music as a product in its own right and not as a launch bonus: same date as the game, a major label, collector objects. For anyone following the soundtrack, everything lives on the music page, and the in-game stations are detailed on the radio page. As for me, I will play the first tracks behind the wheel, window down, to see what they say about Leonida.
