On September 7, the site GTAVice found a set of timestamps in PlayStation Store listings. According to Numerama, which reports the find, they correspond to fifteen different launch times: GTA 6 would unlock at midnight local time in most countries, as Red Dead Redemption 2 did.
First in line: New Zealand, on November 19 at midnight. Numerama notes it will be noon the day before in France. IGN France works out a lead of about 12 hours over France, and more than 20 hours over Mexico and the rest of Central America. Journal du Geek then lists Australia, Japan, India, Europe and finally the United States, although the West Coast could play on the evening of the 18th. These times are not a Rockstar statement: they come from digital PS5 listings and may change.

The consequence is immediate: players are thinking about switching their console region. On Xbox, according to Numerama, it takes Settings, System, Language and region, picking New Zealand and restarting. On PS5 it only works with a New Zealand account funded by a local payment method. Journal du Geek wonders whether the idea is that good and stays cautious: nothing says Microsoft uses the same timing. As a physicist I would call it an untested hypothesis, and an unlock tied to the account rather than the console could break it.
Verified dates and prices are gathered on the release page.
Time zone becomes a variable of the launch. Between the first and last country served, spoilers will have time to circulate. Keep perspective too: the game is digital only, so downloading can be done in advance and launch day will come down to the unlock time.
The November 19, 2026 date is confirmed, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with preloading on November 12. Prices: €79.99 standard, €99.99 Ultimate, PEGI 18. No PC version has been announced.
