GTA 6's communication calendar finally has a date. Rockstar announces on its Newswire that "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" will air Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. in Paris, first on Netflix. Variety confirms the footage will follow on YouTube. That is all we know for now.
According to Kotaku, quoting Netflix's blog, this is a "first-of-its-kind partnership": subscribers get the extended look first, before it lands on Rockstar's YouTube channel and the official site at 9 p.m. Eastern, which Gamekult converts to 3 a.m. in Paris on August 28. Netflix VP Brandon Riegg says GTA reveals "have become cultural moments in their own right". Gamekult is not convinced: it does not see why Rockstar needs Netflix to get people talking about GTA 6.

The 25-second teaser, which also shows a new artwork, says nothing about content. Journal du Geek notes that "extended look" suggests a long presentation and a phrase Rockstar has used for gameplay before. Kotaku goes further in a separate piece, checking the studio's history: the narrated gameplay trailers for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 came 80 and 78 days before launch; this one would land at 70. The site, which expects five to seven minutes, stresses that this is its bet, not information.
What stays unknown weighs as much as what is announced: the length, the place of gameplay, any date announcements. Rockstar has confirmed none of it at this stage.
The Extended Look did air on August 27, first on Netflix. According to Variety, it racked up 31.1 million views in four days on the platform. The date has not moved: GTA VI launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, preload on November 12, PEGI 18, 79.99 € standard and 99.99 € Ultimate. No PC version is announced. Details are on the release page.
After six weeks of silence since preorders opened, Rockstar restarts the machine with a clear deadline: 84 days before launch. The campaign will be short and dense, closer to a series premiere than a trailer. For you the rule is simple: until August 27, distrust fake captures and "dates" that come out of nowhere. The rest of the news is in the journal.
