NateTheHate expects "a fair bit of GTA 6" in August and the official site was touched three times in a day. Thin clues, but the community is buzzing.

The second trailer dates from May 2025, and patience is wearing thin. Kotaku describes how, within hours, three clues convinced part of the fanbase that a third trailer is close. None is confirmation, and they should be read for what they are.
The first comes from NateTheHate. During a Q&A on X on July 28, the insider, whose information has often proved right, said he expected to "see a fair bit of GTA 6 next month", then clarified he meant August, reports Kotaku. The second is more technical: iGrandTheftAuto, a go-to community site, flagged three minor updates to the official website in one day. The creator adds that the last time he spotted a change like this, the cover art and pre-orders dropped the next day, while warning: "no guarantees".
Kotaku also cites shakier leads: Rotten Tomatoes Games reposting trailer 2 on YouTube and staying coy in the comments, probably to relaunch its own audience. Stronger is the calendar: Take-Two's next earnings call is set for August 7 per the site, and Rockstar has timed announcements around those dates before. Strauss Zelnick had also said the marketing push would start this summer.
Meanwhile Numerama observes that the wait feeds another phenomenon: hundreds of AI-generated videos showing GTA 6 characters refuelling or eating a taco rack up millions of views on Instagram, X and TikTok. The site notes the fakes fool the gullible and irritate everyone else. A simple rule: anything not coming from Rockstar or its official channel is suspect.
Rockstar did speak in the end: a gameplay presentation was announced for late August, and aired on August 27 on Netflix and YouTube. Release is still set for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, preload on November 12, PEGI 18, €79.99 standard and €99.99 Ultimate. No PC version has been announced.
Nothing concrete that day, but a mood: with under sixteen weeks to go, Rockstar can no longer stay silent without feeding speculation. Fake content fills the void. To follow what is official, the journal keeps facts and rumours apart.
