On February 3, 2026, Take-Two released its fiscal third-quarter results and once again confirmed November 19, 2026 for Grand Theft Auto VI. IGN Southeast Asia received the release ahead of publication and pulled out the key point: the publisher has never sounded this sure of itself, and says Rockstar’s launch marketing begins this summer.
The line that matters sits at the bottom of the text sent to IGN: “Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027 – which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry – led by the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto VI with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer.” One sentence gives the date, the tone, and a window for communication to resume.

IGN’s reporter also spoke to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick the same day. His answer was two short sentences: “I feel good about it. Very good about it.” The reporter notes that Zelnick had said he felt “really good” about the original fall 2025 date, before two delays, and asked what made this time different. The published excerpt stops before his answer, so we won’t put words in his mouth.
The public’s caution is easy to understand. Rockstar announced a first delay on May 2, 2025, from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026, then a second on November 6, 2025, which set the release at November 19, 2026. After two date changes in six months, a date repeated in a financial release carries more weight than a marketing message. Everything on the date is tracked on our release page.
The date held. Rockstar opened pre-orders in June 2026, according to Variety, and the schedule is now precise: release on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, preload from November 12, PEGI 18 rating. The standard edition costs €79.99 and the Ultimate €99.99. No PC version has been announced.
On February 3 the date was no longer just a studio promise: a listed publisher repeated it in a financial document, which makes another slip costlier to explain. The summer marketing was also a signal to players that communication was about to resume. What nobody knew yet that day was the exact content of the editions and their prices.
