A fan-made GTA 6 map fuses Vice City with RDR2's Saint Denis

Retrospective: written in October 2026 from the sources of the time

A Reddit user imagines a map blending Vice City and Red Dead Redemption 2 locations, ScreenRant reports. A fan exercise with no link to Rockstar's plans.

Four weeks after Rockstar confirmed GTA 6 is in active development, fans are filling the void: with no official image, they draw. On 1 March 2022, ScreenRant looked at a map by a Reddit user, WaIkertexasranger, that overlays Vice City with Red Dead Redemption 2 locations.

According to ScreenRant, Vice City sits in the southwest of the drawing, and Saint Denis, RDR2's city modelled on New Orleans, extends further west. The mock-up thus echoes the real geography between Miami and New Orleans. Other Red Dead places, such as Lemoyne prison, fill the space between the two cities. ScreenRant's writer would like to see an island like Guarma, inspired by Cuba, break up a mostly urban map.

A fan's daydream, not a clue

Nothing says Rockstar plans to join its two series. ScreenRant points out that a shared Red Dead and GTA universe is mostly fan theory and small nods, and making it official would back the studio into creative corners. In other words, the map shows what players want, not what the studio is building.

It still says something about the wait. The last full GTA dates from 2013, Rockstar has shipped only re-releases and GTA Online updates since, and the only confirmed fact remains that development is under way. In that vacuum, Vice City, regularly cited in rumours, is the starting point for almost every imagined map, which says as much about the wait as about the drawing itself. What we know since

Fans were right about Vice City: the game is set in the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by Florida, with Vice City as its main city. No Red Dead Redemption 2 location has been announced. The release is set for 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with preload on 12 November, and no PC version is announced.

Why it matters

For the real map, nothing: this mock-up carries no weight on the game. It remains a valuable witness to what the community hoped for before any trailer, a vast territory inherited from Red Dead, when Rockstar ultimately bet on a single state and one flagship city.
